Napoli contacted Chelsea again on Wednesday to discuss possible options for Romelu Lukaku, who was able to agree personal terms with the Naples club last week.
Napoli and Chelsea resumed talks over Lukaku on Wednesday as both parties try to agree a reasonable price.
Chelsea are reportedly willing to lower their original asking price of €44m to around €35m.
Meanwhile, Napoli are still trying to lower the asking price to close to €25m for Lukaku, who has two years left on his deal with the west London club.
The 31-year-old is also willing to take a pay cut, with reports last week detailing he has agreed a €6m-a-season deal, excluding bonuses, with the Italian club.
Belgium’s record goalscorer is widely regarded as the ideal replacement for Victor Osimhen, who has been linked with ยูฟ่าเบท a move to PSG following the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
This move comes as Napoli prepare for the possible departure of their star striker Victor Osimhen, who has been link to Paris Saint-Germain.
Although PSG’s interest in Osimhen has reportedly cooled, the Serie A club are still pushing ahead with plans to secure Lukaku as a replacement.
Antonio Conte, who previously manage Lukaku at Inter Milan, is reportedly interest in reuniting with the striker at Napoli.
However, the two clubs must first agree on a transfer fee. Chelsea initially set Lukaku’s price at €44 million (£37 million/$47.7 million), but they are now willing to lower it to around €35m (£29.4m/$38 m). Napoli, on the other hand, are pushing for an even lower fee, closer to €25m (£21m/$27.1m).
Lukaku, who has two years left on his Chelsea contract, is eager for the move to Napoli and is reportedly willing to take a significant pay cut to make it happen.
